Six Lithuanian short films take us through different places, moments, and states of being. We travel from the sea to the city, from a summer garden to hidden corners of Vilnius, and into the quiet worlds that exist within us. Along the way, people search for meaning, connection, freedom, or simply a way home. Nature is never far away – it is part of these stories, quietly present and alive rather than simply serving as a backdrop. Together they remind us that there is more around us than we usually notice, and that other worlds may be closer than we think. Together, the films invite us to slow down, look again, and discover what might be found in The Space Between.

It is through this absence that the essence of the human spirit is best revealed. As Kahlil Gibran wrote: “There must be something strangely sacred in salt. It is in our tears and in the sea.”

A lonely man lives in a city full of people, but the man does not see them. Black colour covers his consciousness and he loses touch with reality. Since the constant journey up and down repeats in his daily life, trying to search for some meaning, the man finds a red stone, but the meaning is not created. Not finding a way out of the city, the man becomes a stone himself.

Liump! Heuriger

Liump! Heuriger is the event bringing together a traditional Austrian pop-up wine tavern and a moth-watching set. The idea of inviting both people and insects to the same table is appealing for its simplicity, its naivety, and its likely failure.

Seeking a sense of freedom and a break from everyday chaos, four friends wander through places in Vilnius Old Town that most people never see. Together, they discover a hidden part of the city where they seem to become invisible, the world feels calmer, and their bond grows stronger.

A hot summer day. Cherry branches weighed down by ripe berries are dangling over the roof of a summer house. Recently retired father invites his son to help him with the cherry picking in the garden. The father is in no hurry to finish the cherry job though, as he tries to catch up with his son. The cherries remain in the background.
