Short Films ‘Linger, Oh Beautiful Moment’

Ieva Juodelytė, Eglė Davidavičė, Milda Baginskaitė, Martynas Norvaišas, Ieva Šakalytė

A program of five recent Lithuanian short films explores everyday moments and follows people through their daily lives. Whether sticking to routine or stepping away from it, the characters encounter experiences that slowly shape their understanding of themselves. From a mother facing silence during a solo vacation, a teenage girl finding confidence in her body, to a father and son keeping old family traditions alive – these stories show how simple acts — like shopping lists, shared traditions, or moments of rest — can create space for reflection, connection, and change. Together, these films remind us that not everything valuable has to be useful — some things matter simply because they feel true.

Duration: 71 min.

I Buy

dir. Martynas Norvaišas / documentary / 8 min. / 2024

A diverse crowd of shop goers at the mall parking lot shares what has ended up in their trunks after the weekly shopping. Item after item this collective shopping list becomes a meditative flow of things and evokes a peculiar nostalgic feeling. Both an urge to set roots deep in life and curiosity to experience it beyond the mundane starts to unveil behind the necessities satisfying day-to-day life. Oddly, this short doc reflects buying in terms of existentialism, not consumerism.
